Proud to be American by choice and Colombian by birth. I came to the United States, as many people do, looking for the American dream and found it! I had the privilege of living in Colombia for most of my formative years and I believe the years spent in a country ravished by a drug-war gave me a special perspective on my true passion, journalism. This is the profession of choice by many in my country of birth, despite being considered the most dangerous civilian profession.
